Effects of plant extracts on stem-end rot and anthracnose pathogens of mango fruit  The efficiency of extraction for controlling the mycelial growth and spore germination of L. theobromae and C. gloeosporiodes which were caused of stem end rot and anthracnose disease of mangoes were studied. Thirty-seven plant extracts prepared from the different parts of plant tissues were extracted with water, alcohol and methylenechloride. The alcohol extract substances from leaves and flowers of Tagetes errata at the concentration of 10,000 ppm showed the completely inhibited the mycelial growth of both strains. The lowest ED50 value was found in the alcohol extract substances from leaves of T. errata at the concentration of 100 ppm for L. theobramae and at 500 ppm for C. gleosporioides. The alcohol extract substances from T. errata were a good potentiality to inhibit the spore germination of L. theobromae and C. gloeosporioides. However, the extraction of plant tissues with alcohol was affective to control the pathogens more than with water.
