Internal browning of Ya Li Asian pear during cold storage.

Experiments were conducted with Asian pear (Pyrus bretschneideri) grown in the state of Parana, Brazil in 2000 using various temperatures and controlled atmosphere conditions. The results showed that internal browning was >68% after 52 days of storage at all temperature combinations. Higher temperatures at the beginning of storage did not prevent internal browning even under controlled atmosphere conditions.
