Effect of CaCl2 and 6-BA on membrane lipid peroxidation of postharvest jujube fruits.

One fresh jujube (Ziziphus jujuba) cultivar was used to study the effects of CaCl2 and benzyladenine (6-BA) on membrane lipid peroxidation of postharvest fruits. CaCl2 at 1% and/or 15 mg 6-BA/litre were sprayed on jujube fruits before harvest. The decline of peroxidase and catalase activity were restrained, the accumulation of malondialdehyde to relative conductivity were reduced, hence, the ripening and senescence of fresh jujube were delayed.
