บทคัดย่อ

Fruit research - present status and future thrusts.

Research achievements in India in terms of genetic crop improvement (mango, banana, citrus, pawpaw, grape, pomegranate, sapota, date, fig, and pineapple), vegetative and in vitro propagation, pest and disease control (biological and chemical), integrated production systems, and postharvest management and storage are presented. Future research coverage (genetic resource conservation, crop improvement through biotechnology, postharvest management and processing, and export promotion) is briefly discussed.
