Postharvest changes in fresh Swiss chard (Beta vulgaris, type cycla) under different storage conditions.

Fresh spinach beet leaves were stored at 4 or 18 deg C and 43, 86 or 98% RH. Leaf quality was unacceptable after 3 days' storage at 18 deg C, regardless of RH level. Leaves held at 4 deg C and 86 or 98% RH remained acceptable for 9 days. Leaves held at 4 deg C and 43% RH were unacceptable after 4 days' storage due to dehydration.
