บทคัดย่อ

Spices research - a crystal gazing.

The direction of future research on spices, particularly on germplasm conservation; crop improvement, management, and protection; and postharvest technology, with particular reference to Piper nigrum and Elettaria cardamomum, is presented. The importance of biotechnology and genetic engineering on the advancement of spice crop production over the next 2 decades are discussed.
