Postharvest fruit rot diseases in mango cv. Kesar.

Weekly surveys of microbial rots of mango cv. Kesar were conducted at Moti and Nani markets, Junagadh during May-June of 1990 and 1991. A similar survey was conducted at the food processing unit of Gujarat Agro Industries Corporation Ltd, Junagadh. Over the two years, the incidence of Lasiodiplodia theobromae [Botryodiplodia theobromae] was highest (average 5.2%) followed by Aspergillus niger (4.0%) at the markets. Incidence of all pathogens was higher at the food processing units, with a 22.6% loss due to Botryodiplodia rot and 6.96% incidence of Aspergillus rot.
