Research preparedness for accelerated growth of horticulture in India.

Improved technologies for varietal development, propagation, agronomy, crop protection, postharvest management are examined and production constraints are discussed. Strategies and programmes for horticultural research are proposed which include rationalization of research, safeguarding intellectual property rights, genetic resource management, horticultural biotechnology, integrated production systems, export promotion, the production of quality planting material, postharvest management and human resource development.
