Study on the occurring dynamics of citrus storage disease and techniques for chemical antisepsis.

In a study on the dynamics of storage disease in 8 varieties or lines of citrus from 1983-1995 in Zhejiang, China, 25 pathogens were recorded. Among them, Penicillium italicum, P. digitatum, Phomopsis citri [Diaporthe citri], Diplodia natalensis [Botryodiplodia theobromae], Alternaria tenuissima, Colletotrichum gloeosporioides [Glomerella cingulata], Phytophthora citrophthora, Guignardia citricarpa and Oospora citri-aurantii [Geotrichum candidum var. citri-aurantii] predominated with their frequency >90% of the total. The disease incidence in fruits of C. tardiferax and C. poomensis ranged from 13.8-66.5% (average 32.6%) during 107.2 plus or minus 14 days in storage. The disease incidence also varied in different varieties or lines, ranging from 1.9-57.6%. The disease incidence was closely related with storage duration and air temperature. In trials on the screening of 16 antiseptics, imazalil, prochloraz 45EC and Bellkute 40WP in combination gave good control effects.
