บทคัดย่อ

Commercialisation of a mobile flash dryer for farmer cooperatives.

The drying of wet grains has been a problem in the Philippines because the peak of the harvest season coincides with the rainy months. Mechanical drying offers an alternative but is not readily accepted due to the costs of fuel, operating expenses, incompatibility of drier to handle the volumes of rice and lack of knowledge on drier performance and maintenance. To address this problem, a mobile flash drier (MFD) was developed, to be accessible and compatible with the level of operations on farms. The specifications, design, principles of operation and economic returns are discussed.
