บทคัดย่อ

Research on the development of glassy potato tubers into rot after harvest.

 

In potato crops affected by secondary tuber growth, primary tubers depleted of starch are prone to develop physiological rot. Two batches of primary tubers were divided into specific gravity classes and monitored for 9 weeks. Most decay took place within the first 5 weeks of storage. Tubers with specific gravity below 1.010 usually decayed completely, whereas 80% of those with specific gravity over 1.020 remained intact. In those between 1.010 and 1.020 over 50% of the tubers were affected but they did not all decay completely.
