บทคัดย่อ

The effect of mealybug infestation on the incidence of post-harvest Alternaria decay in navel oranges.

 

A higher level of decay caused by Alternaria citri was evident in fruit infested with mealybugs than in fruit with no obvious infestation, following standard packinghouse treatment and cold storage. It is suggested that a quantification of mealybug infestation levels should be included in an assessment of the waste susceptibility of navel oranges. The importance of effective mealybug control is emphasized.
