Asian and American ginseng - a review.

 

The morphological taxonomy, purification and properties of ginsenosides, cultural management (including light, shade, temperature, water, soil and fertilizer requirements, seed collection and germination, transplanting and flower thinning), diseases and disorders and postharvest handling and processing of Asian and American ginseng (Panax ginseng [P. pseudoginseng] and P. quinquefolium [P. quinquefolius], respectively) are reviewed.
