บทคัดย่อ

Relation between chilling sensitivity and polyamine content in several maturity stages of zucchini squash.

 

Cucurbita pepo (cv. Daina) fruits were harvested 1-9 days after pollination and stored at 5 deg C. The development of chilling injury in stored fruits was delayed as fruit maturity increased. High concentrations of putrescine, spermidine and spermine were found in fruits 1-5 days after pollination; polyamine levels decreased as the fruits matured. The putrescine content of fruits harvested 1-5 days after pollination increased during storage. Spermidine and spermine levels decreased during storage at all stages of maturity apart from spermine levels in fruits harvested one day after pollination.
