บทคัดย่อ

Microfungi of mate herb (Ilex paraguariensis St. Hil.).

ABSTRACT :

 

Quantification, isolation and determination of the meso, thermotolerant and thermophilic fungal species in samples of I. paraguariensis from several markets in Buenos Aires, Argentina, were investigated. A total of 14 genera and 15 species were isolated on malt agar. The dilution plate method showed Aspergillus niger and Rhodotorula spp. as the most frequent (100 and 80%, respectively). Other minor species included Aspergillus, Penicillium, Fusarium, Paecilomyces and Phaeococcomyces. Some species of these genera are potentially toxinogenic. Cephaliophora tropica, Melanospora sp., Rhizomucor pusillus and Humicola grisea could be isolated only by culture in humid chamber. The number of propagules/g was 2700-50 000 c.f.u. for mesophilic fungi and 0-3000 c.f.u. for thermotolerant species.
