Effect of temperature on development of postharvest rot caused by Erwinia carotovora subsp. atroseptica on green asparagus.

ABSTRACT :

 

The effect of different temp. at storage and transportation (0.3, 7, 11, 22 and 28 deg C) was tested on asparagus cv. UC-157 artificially inoculated with E. c. subsp. atroseptica. Diseased tissue was assessed daily for 23 d after inoculation. The disease occurred at all the temp. tested, but increased with temp.
