บทคัดย่อ

Post-harvest biological control: state of knowledge and prospects.

ABSTRACT

The methods available for the control of postharvest diseases of horticultural and fruit products are outlined, and the current state of knowledge on the use of biological control techniques in this area is discussed. Examples are given of biological control techniques based on the mechanisms of competition, antibiosis and hyperparasitism. Strategies of intervention rely on a modification of the equilibrium of the epiphytic flora in favour of the antagonist, or the use of the antagonist with the same techniques already used for contact pesticides. Future prospects in the biological control of pathogens of horticultural and fruit products after harvest are suggested.
