'Rizzi': a processing clingstone peach with extended postharvest storage potential.

Originating by open-pollination of Everts, this late-season Prunus persica variety produces non-melting fruit with a yellow-orange ground colour and 20-60% red blush. The skin is of average thickness and moderate pubescence and the flesh is uniformly yellow. Fruits ripen about the same time as those of Ross and Dr. Davis. Flowering takes place in early March in Sacramento, California. Rizzi stands out by its potential for extended storage: fresh fruits held in air storage for 8 weeks at 0 deg C and 90-95% RH produced a high-quality processed product.
