บทคัดย่อ

O-phenylphenol: post-harvest use as a fungicide on kiwifruit.

The efficacy of 2-phenylphenol, applied both by immersion and thermonebulization techniques, against Botrytis cinerea on harvested kiwifruits was assessed. When the fungicide was applied by thermonebulization, good efficacy was obtained and residue levels within 24 h of treatment were within the limits fixed by various countries. The residues remained practically constant during cold storage at 1 deg C for 4 months in a controlled atmosphere (2-3% oxygen, 4.7-5.3% carbon dioxide) (4.6-5.1 mg/kg), while they decreased slightly over the same period of cold storage in a normal atmosphere (from 7.2 to 5.4 mg/kg). Application of 2-phenylphenol by immersion also gave good control, but residues were higher (>9.2 mg/kg 3 days after treatment).
