In markets at both locations guava fruits were affected by Botryodiplodia, Colletotrichum, Pestalotiopsis, Phomopsis, Phytophthora and Rhizopus. R. arrhizus and B. theobromae were isolated most frequently. At Udaipur these 2 rots caused combined losses amounting to Rs. 56 016 in 1989, 6.68% of the total value of the crop. In Ahmedabad the losses (Rs. 174 000) represented 6.47% of the total.
