Brussels sprouts. A review of the research in 1990.

Research is reported on the following: phenological observations on the cabbage moth (Mamestra brassicae), tomato moth (M. oleracea [Lacanobia oleracea]) and diamond-back moth (Plutella xylostella); control of cabbage root fly (Delia radicum) by various insecticidal treatments; susceptibility of different cultivars (16 growing in sandy soil and 18 in loamy sand) to leaf diseases, principally white blister (Albugo candida); fungicides for controlling diseases caused by Mycosphaerella brassicicola, Alternaria brassicae and Albugo candida; herbicides for weed control post-planting; short-term storage conditions for young plants (bare-rooted or pot-raised) before planting in the field; and postharvest sprout storage, comparing different temperatures and atmospheres.
