บทคัดย่อ

The effect of the process of threshing, cleaning and drying on macrodamage to bean seeds.

Vicia faba cv. Saba was grown at 2 sites and cv. Igolomska at 1 site and plants were harvested by cutting with a trailed mower 2-034 into windrows, dried to 18-19% seed moisture gathered using an unadjusted Bizon combine harvester and seed was cleaned on a Petkus-Gigant K-531A finishing thresher. Seed was then dried to 13% moisture. The unadjusted Bizon harvester caused 21-40% major seed damage and the finishing thresher 6-9%; drying did not damage the seeds. Germination was 93-99% for hard collected seed and 69-83% for machine-harvested seed of cv. Saba and 94-97% for machine-harvested seed of cv. Igolomska.
