Analysis of post-harvest application pesticides in citrus fruits.

Analytical methods for 7 kinds of postharvest application pesticides in citrus fruits and juices were established. Diphenyl (DP) [biphenyl], o-phenylphenol (OPP) and 2,4-D (2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid) were simultaneously extracted under acidic conditions and thiabendazole (TBZ), imazalil, benomyl and sec-butylamine were simultaneously extracted under basic conditions. DP, OPP and 2,4-D were estimated by GC/MS (SIM) and imazalil, TBZ, benomyl and sec-butylamine were estimated by HPLC with a UV or fluorescence detector. Recoveries of the 7 kinds of postharvest application pesticides in lemon and lemon juice were 60.0-104.8 and 67.3-96.2%, respectively. Detection limits in citrus fruit and juice were 0.005-0.05 and 0.001-0.01 mg/kg respectively.
