บทคัดย่อ

Evaluation of post-harvest losses and quality changes in tomatoes in Borno State, Nigeria.

An existing, rotary type coffee roaster with 60 cm diameter and 90 cm length drum was modified for use by small scale industry. Four kerosene burners were installed as heat sources under the drum. The drum was constructed at an angle of 13 deg and rotated at 10-15 rev/min. using a 1 hp electric motor. The roaster has a capacity of 75 kg of coffee beans per hour which requires 4 litres of kerosene. The roasted coffee produced was of a consistent cinnamon brown colour and of good cup quality. Weight loss during roasting was about 15-17%.
