บทคัดย่อ

The effect of calcium on ethylene production in 'Starkrimson' apple.

Apple cv. Starkrimson fruits were infiltrated with 5% calcium chloride at a reduced pressure of 533 hPa for 2 min. Treatment decreased the ethylene content compared with controls or fruits infiltrated with water only. Treatment decreased the ACC content and the activity of ethylene-forming enzyme but increased the content of MACC [malonyl conjugate of ACC]. Effects on fruit methionine content were also observed.
