บทคัดย่อ

Dormancy-breaking method effects on azalea longevity.

In a comparison of 2 methods of breaking dormancy in potted Rhododendron cv. Gloria plants, exposure to cold (2 deg C) temperatures for 6 weeks extended postharvest longevity, increased the number of buds at the open-flower stage after 2 weeks at 21 deg and increased the diameter of flowers that developed within the interior of the plant, whereas 4 weeks of cold treatment and foliar application of 500 mg GA4,7/litre advanced flowering as well as reducing the time spent in the cold treatment.
