บทคัดย่อ

An operational system for milkweed floss-fiber recovery.

Milkweed, Asclepias syriaca and Asclepias speciosa, is being commercialized to recover the floss-fibre for use as loose fill insulating material. Successful commercialization of milkweed as a crop is dependent upon a mechanized harvesting, handling, drying and floss processing system. An operational system with a field capacity of 0.4-0.5 ha/h, consisting of a pod harvester, a pod conditioner, two drying stages and a floss processor is discussed. This system was operational in 1990.
