Fogging disinfectants inside storage rooms against pathogens of potatoes and sweet potatoes.

Sweet potatoe [Impomoea batatas (L.) Lam], cv. 'Georgia Jet' can be showed for 5 months by disinfecting the root inside the storage rooms by means of fogging with 1% iprodione (a systemic fungicide), applied with the Tabor Atomizing System combined with the curing procedure. The percent decay after 5 months of storage, which followed this combined treatment, was 5%, compared with 61% in the non-treated control. The percentage of potato (Solanum tuberosum) decay caused by Erwinia carotovora subspecies carotovora after 5 months of storage, following disinfecting the tubers by fogging the storage rooms with Compound P via the Tabor Atomizing System, was 4%, compared with 26% in the non-treated control.
