Effect of 1-MCP, MAP, KMNO4 and combinations on shelf life and eating quality of anamur

In this research were investigated the effetcs of MAP, 1-MCP, KMNO4, 1-MCP+MAP, KMNO4, +MAP as postharvest applications on shelf life of Anamur banana (Musa sp. dwarf cavendish).Applications were done after the degreening with 1000 ppm ethylene at 20°C. 1-MCP +MAP combination was the best result. MAP was effected specially decreasing weight loss and combination was effective than the control up to two times (%12 control, %5MAP 1-MCP) and 1-MCP kept the firmness and combination was approximately effective three times (1,33 control, 7 MAP 1-MCP). The shelf life of banana as the results of quality evaluation panel deal with this project with adult man, women and children were 8 days while combination 16 days.
