A study on the interaction between Chinese export price and world import price of citrus

With the accelerating of economic globalization, the effect of foreign factors on Chinese citrus export is more and more obvious, which is mainly expressed as the export price fluctuation of Chinese citrus. The article uses SVAR, impulse response analysis and variance decomposition to analyze the interaction of Chinese citrus export prices and citrus import prices of world from the year 1961 to 2007. The study shows: the shock of Chinese export price on world import price is not significant, only 10% can be explained by it; but after jointing WTO, the effect of world import price on Chinese export price is bigger and bigger, in addition, the two prices are tend to be convergent. Price convergence means the degree of international marketization of China’s citrus industry is gradually improving, which is beneficial to optimize the allocation of resources of citrus industry and decreased the fluctuation of export price, but increases the difficulty of export control at the same time.
