Postharvest storage of Citrus tankan fruit in normal condition and cold storage
Citrus tankan is one of the superior local fruit products in southern Kyushu and Okinawa, which is excellent in taste and contains high nutritional composition. The post harvest storage of Citrus tankan is very important in handling, packaging, and transportation system. The nutritional composition based on sugar and mineral content was evaluated during 30 days storage in cold storage (5°C, 85%) and normal condition (25° C, 65%). The physical properties, soluble solid content, and fruit weight loss increase with number of storage days both in normal condition and cold storage. Acidity was stable during storage; meanwhile respiration of Citrus tankan was higher in normal condition than cold storage one.
