A new test for rapid vomitoxin determination.

A new test kit, the DONtest, developed by Vicam for the determination of DON in wheat, barley, corn and other commodities, is described. The kit uses affinity column chromatography for isolation of the toxin, followed by fluorometry for quantitation. The test takes about 15 min to perform and allows up to 12 samples to be run simultaneously. The test measures DON in the range 0.5 to 5 mg/kg.
